Surgery Before the Shutdown

I am so grateful 🙏🏾 Even though surgeries are being forced to cancel or postpone, I was able to have the lumpectomy today, because my treatment was considered essential and time sensitive. Thank you so much for your prayers, love, and encouragement.
Right before the surgery when they were going over all the risks one more time, I could feel my eyes well up, but I remembered all the messages, hugs, impromptu visits and said: I got this because God and a whole tribe of amazing people got me!!
Everything went really well. The staff was so caring and positive. They kept saying, wow you’re so healthy, you’ll do great. The surgeon said the tumor was solid, relatively easy to remove, and it looked like it hadn’t spread. They took two lymph nodes, and I should get the oncology results in a week.
Please pray for and think about those dealing with health challenges now and in the upcoming weeks and months. If my surgery had been next week, I probably wouldn’t have been able to have it. Pray for our health care workers. The hospitals are getting ready as much as they can, but they already know that what they have isn’t enough.
I’m thankful for all of you and thinking of you and your families. Take good care of each other. Virtual hugs! Love you all more than I knew was possible ❤️
